Case Study: Tim Gilbert

Occupation: Painter and decorator

The Challenge
After injuring his dominant right wrist in a fall, landing badly on a concrete kerbstone, Tim found himself in a plaster cast for three weeks, followed by physiotherapy and eight weeks off work. Recovery was hampered due to ongoing weakness and swelling, not ideal as he is self-employed.

The Solution
Helen devised a treatment plan involving Bowen Technique therapy sessions to strengthen damaged tendons, with use of our specialist natural products at home. Every-other night, before bed, Tim applied Bexters Soda Crystals in our small cotton applicator wrap, until the swelling was reduced. This was followed by daily application of Bowtech Ease oil to promote healing of soft tissue. She also recommended gentle hand exercises to restore movement.

The Outcome
This regimen was followed for three months, the recommended recovery period for this type of injury, after which Tim reported no further pain and improved flexibility. He regained feeling in his hand and wrist, enabling him to better grip his paint brushes!
