I am a practising reflexologist and have bunions forming on both feet and also a 'bunionette' on the left foot under the little toe at the top! Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want surgery when I'm older.
Being a reflexologist makes looking after bunions easier because we can so easily use our fingers and thumbs on the feet. If you know about the classical reflexology move where the ‘press and move’ along a millimetre to press again is used, rather than the light touch move, then using the Ayurvedic aromatherapy ointment called Bowtech Ease will be really helpful. It is my belief that the pressing action used in reflexology, together with this ointment is the key to breaking down any calcification that is building up to form the bunions and bunionettes.
Regular use of Soda Crystals in a footbath or bath is advised as the crystals contain natural ingredients such as Epsom Salts, Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Chloride which help ease any pain, provide the minerals that normalise the bone structure and help draw off fluid by assisting the lymph system.
Soaking the feet every other day (or night) will assist your body to come into balance. When you get out of the bath, gently apply a ‘press and release’ action with the Bowtech Ease until absorbed – two to three minutes until dry. Try to use this every day if you can and twice a day if the area is very painful.
