  • Depends on your mood… bath vs shower Posted June 21, 2019

    Off

Thank you to everyone who embraced the spirit of International Bath Day (June 14) by taking part in our fun promotion on Facebook. We asked you to tell us whether you prefer shower or bath and the reason why.

Judging from the response, it seems there is a time and place for both with only one or two of our Facebook respondents choosing shower as their sole option. In a recent survey (see previous blog article) 57 per cent of people in the UK chose to shower compared to 32 per cent who said they preferred to bathe.

Who knows, perhaps this is the future? Our friends Tom and Sophie don’t have any option as their new home only has a wet room, while another friend Molly had her bath taken out and replaced with a shower… very brave!

For others, having a choice is essential, depending on their mood. Below are some of your comments, with congratulations to Joanne who won three months’ supply of Bexters Bath Crystals in our prize draw.

Amanda says: ‘A shower makes you feel ‘zingy’ and refreshed but a bath wins on the ‘me time, relaxation and de-stress factors’

Hayley says: ‘A shower because it revives and revitalises after a long day’

Caroline says: ‘Showers are functional and quick but I love the luxury of a bath, especially with your bath crystals that take the experience to the next level! My aches and pains are eased resulting in a great night’s sleep.’

Watch out for more Facebook promotions coming soon… Helen x

    Stress Awareness Month
Helen's top tip if you're feeling stressed is to take a bath!
We know that warm water promotes blood flow and can help loosen tight, aching muscles. So it makes sense that relaxing in a bath can be an effective way to relieve stress.

As a Bowen Technique therapist and instructor, Helen also understands that by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (which helps us relax) in this way lowers cortisol (the stress hormone) and releases serotonin... in simple terms, helps reduce anxiety and encourage more restful sleep.

So much for the science... for an extra tip, add a handful of #bexterscrystals with magnesium to enhance the effect.
