I have designed new packs to hold the lectric soda crystals (which are used for drawing off fluid) over smaller areas such as ankles and wrists as well as the usual knee/elbow joints and back. In addition, there is now a further option in the form of a square pack or ‘pouch’ without straps. This can be filled with crystals, placed over a swollen area and secured with whatever bandage or support is handy.

Last night, I decided to try out one of these on myself. I secured one over my knee with an elasticated bandage and went to bed. Four hours is the minimum time to work, overnight is best. I always recommend to lie on a towel when in bed as the pack can become quite damp as it draws fluid from the area. My knee did look slimmer this morning and I had a little giggle because there was not really any puffiness that I knew of around the area, but maybe this could be a new slimming aid?

I’m sure the sceptics will say it was the binding around the pack that held the skin in over night, but I can assure them it was not tight or bound around like the old ‘Kwik Slim’ beauty treatment – does anyone remember that? It was simply the crystals doing their best!

Now here's a question for you... why is it that women suffer more badly from joint problems?
Here at Bowen Supplies HQ we've been pondering this question after spotting a survey from Nuffield Health which showed eight in ten women had experienced joint pain at some point. Out of 8,000 people (over age 16) surveyed almost half of women with painful joints said it was so bad they couldn't sleep, with 40 per cent reporting it affected their mental health. This compared to only 34 per cent of the men.
Helen's experience shows that men often present with knee and ankle pain from sport-related injuries while for women it often leads to arthritis-related conditions. And of course, work-related conditions can impact the way joints respond.
Whatever the cause, be it men or women of any age, we know from positive feedback that our natural award-winning products can bring relief from pain, swelling and inflammation.
As we reach the end of Rheumatoid Arthritis Week, we invite you to take a look at our website for details of Bowtech Ease oil and Bexters crystals to read how others have found them beneficial.
