Case Study: Emma Sowden
Occupation: Marathon runner and triathlete
The Challenge
Training for Ironman UK, her first full triathlon after several years of marathon running. Suffering with swollen ankles and knees. Had previously tried acupuncture and was attracted to the idea of a natural remedy for reducing swelling.
The Solution
To reduce swelling and accelerate post-training recovery Helen recommended use of Bexters Soda Crystals with applicator wrap on ankles and/or knees, with regular crystal baths to ease aching muscles.
The Outcome
Wearing the wrap with crystals overnight on one ankle only (for comparison purposes) Emma reported immediate relief with no visible swelling next morning. As a result, she adopted this treatment for both ankles, with occasional use on knees to manage injury. Huge improvement overall with body feeling less fatigued.
Emma says: ‘I found that wrapping ankles/knees post training, especially after intense and longer training sessions, brought massive benefits in terms of recovery, coupled with crystal baths two or three times a week. As an extra bonus, I noticed my skin felt softer too! I am now preparing for the Marathon des Sables 2018 and Bexters has become an integral part of my training.’
